Downtown Los Angeles

Today was pretty exciting. We went to downtown L.A.. There was a lot of people and it felt really cool. Maybe today we'll see somebody famous. Here's a video of us walking around downtown. The tunnel we walk thru is the 3rd street tunnel. which is over 100 years old! (It opened in 1901). This is also where they filmed the new Batman movie (Dark Knight Rises), how awesome! We also visit the Bradbury building (also over 100 years old, built in 1893). This is another place where they shoot a lot of movies. My dad said they filmed movies like: Blade Runner, Wolf, Pay It Forward, Lethal Weapon 4, 500 Days of Summer, and The Artist in this building.

We also went to the Los Angeles Central Library. It's one of the largest libraries in the country, but it was definitely the biggest library I've seen. It even had an incredible collection of WWE wrestling videos! Oh yeah, and the movie Ghostbusters was filmed here. L.A. is such a cool city.

Natural History Museum and Rose Garden

It's Day 2 and we went to The Natural History Museum to see dinosaurs and other animals. It was really big and had lots of things to see. My brother Sebastian finally got to see the big dinosaurs.

After the museum, we went to the nearby Rose Garden. It was a big garden with roses and many other kinds of flowers. It was a great area to relax and enjoy some snacks.

Tonight is pizza night, so we're pretty excited. Pizza and some more movies. Oh yeah, we also want to share what we think about the movies we watch. We'll give them a thumbs up, thumbs down, thumb to the side for average. Here are last night's movies:

Shaolin Soccer:
Me- thumbs up ("cool special effects and kung fu moves")
Seb- thumbs up ("I liked the kung fu powers")
Dad - thumbs up ("good for all ages, funny and clean and kung fu action was pretty cool")

Chicken Run
Me - thumbs up ("I would watch this movie again")
Seb - thumbs up ("It was funny")
Dad - thumbs up ("clever movie geared for the young ones. Good movie")

Mary Poppins
Me - thumbs up ("I liked the dancing and how Mary Poppins used her magic")
Seb - thumbs up ("I liked Mary Poppins and she can fly")
Dad - thumbs up ("Can't go wrong with this classic. Still enjoy watching it and great movie for kids")

Day One In California

Today was our first full day in L.A.. We went to a Mexican supermarket and saw a goat head. Wish I would have taken a picture. Then it was off to visit the USC library.

The USC library was huge and cool. Lots of computers. Also got some movies from the library to watch at home (Mary Poppins, Shaolin Soccer, and Chicken Run). Good first day :)

Leaving To Los Angeles

What a day! Grandparents took us to the train station. We then took the train to the airport. That was pretty cool. We had to wait a little while at the airport, but finally got on our plane to L.A...we're pretty excited!

Dad bought us some boxed lunches. They were pretty good. Plus, we got cookies, peanuts, and pretzels on the plane too!

Wow! We finally arrived in L.A. It's a pretty big city. Maybe we'll see a movie star...you never know.

We're pretty beat. Going to Dad's apartment to rest and get ready for day one of our California adventure.

Check out our pictures and videos of today's adventure:
